Bayern Munich ready to spend heavily on a striker
The past few weeks have given much more clarity to Bayern Munich in terms of areas that need addressing in the summer window. The Bavarian club delivered a promising performance against Manchester City in the first leg of the quarter-final, but they couldn’t finish chances to put pressure on the English champions.
The first half of the season saw Jamal Musiala and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scoring consistently to bail out Bayern from tricky situations. Both players have struggled to score consistently in Ruckrunde, highlighting the need for a prolific striker for next season.
Bayern chiefs also believe signing a striker is crucial in the summer transfer window. According to Bild (via iMiaSanMia), Die Roten is ready to smash their record transfer fee to get a striker when the transfer window opens in June. The Bavarian club is assessing several options in the market before going all out for one player.
The Bavarian club has been heavily linked with a move for Harry Kane since the start of the season. The English forward reportedly held talks with Bayern through an intermediary, but Bayern will not have a free run for the signing of Kane. His current deal at Tottenham Hotspur expires in 2024, so big clubs will look to sign him in the summer.
Despite having only 12 months on his contract, Bayern will have to pay close to 100 million to sign Kane. The Bavarian club will face competition from Manchester United for his signature since Erik Ten Hag is reportedly eager to bring Kane to Old Trafford.
Apart from Kane, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with a move to Bayern in the summer window. The Nigerian striker is reportedly open to a return to the Bundesliga after enjoying a prolific campaign with Napoli. Osimhen is expected to be even more expensive than Kane in the summer since he is young and has several years left on his contract at Napoli.
Atalanta’s Erasmus Hojlund and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randall Kolo Muani are the other strikers that have been linked with a move to Bayern. Both forwards will be expensive due to their potential and the length of contracts at their respective clubs.

Bayern will have to sell well in the summer like they did last year to address other areas of the squad. Apart from a number nine, Thomas Tuchel reportedly wants to add another midfielder in the summer. The Bavarian club has also agreed a deal to sign Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig on a free transfer.
