Thomas Tuchel has endured a difficult start to life as head coach of Bayern Munich. The German coach took over the role at the end of March after Die Roten decided to part ways with Julian Nagelsmann. Tuchel was on a break after leaving Chelsea in October.
The former Borussia Dortmund head coach was destined to manage Bayern at some point in his career. He was heavily linked with Bayern when Carlo Ancelotti left Die Roten in 2017. However, Tuchel eventually agreed to become the head coach of PSG. After enjoying success in Paris and Chelsea, Tuchel finally got the chance to manage Bayern at the end of March.
Tuchel enjoyed a winning start as Bayern coach by clinching a win against Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Things went downhill after this victory as Bayern got knocked out of the Champions League and DFB Pokal against Manchester City and Freiburg, respectively.
Along with exits from cup competitions, Bayern is also struggling in the Bundesliga. The defending champions dropped to second place in the points table after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Mainz. There is a good chance of Die Roten ending with zero major trophies this season since Dortmund needs to win the remaining six league games to lift the Bundesliga title.
Despite the poor results in the past four weeks, Tuchel is well-admired by the players. According to AZ, Tuchel enjoys good backing from players. The players are pleased with the strong tactical and empathetic approach from Tuchel in training. They are hoping for coaching stability at Bayern after the arrival of Tuchel.
The club hierarchy is also firmly behind Tuchel despite poor results at the start of his reign. Tuchel will get more time to implement his ideas during the pre-season and get the best out of all players. The German coach will also get to make additions to the squad during the summer to bring more consistency in performances.

Tuchel will still hope to win the Bundesliga title this season. Die Roten will look to bounce back against Hertha Berlin at Allianz Arena on Sunday. They need to win all of their remaining six league games and hope Borussia Dortmund slips up in one game. A league title win can become the springboard for more success for Tuchel at Bayern. Considering his track record over the last few years, Tuchel is more than likely to enjoy success in Bavaria.
