Bayern Munich was expected to sign a striker last summer when Robert Lewandowski left Bavaria after eight seasons to join FC Barcelona. However, Bayern decided to rely on current options in the squad and add more depth to the attack by signing Sadio Mane and Mathys Tel.

The Bavarian club is expected to add a number nine to the squad sooner rather than later. Since the end of the last summer transfer window, Bayern has been heavily linked with several strikers. The form of Randall Kolo Muani for Frankfurt has also made him a candidate for Bayern’s search for a striker.

According to Sport1, Randal Kolo Muani will be more than happy to join Bayern in the summer. The French striker considers a move to Bavaria as a dream transfer for him. He prefers staying in the Bundesliga after seamlessly adapting to the league since arriving at Frankfurt from Nantes on a free transfer in the last summer window.

Kolo Muani has been in superb form for Frankfurt this season, scoring 12 goals in the Bundesliga. The 24-year-old forward’s linkup play has also been superb, which has helped him to notch ten assists in the league. His good form at the club level helped him to book a place in the French squad for the World Cup 2022.

Eintracht Frankfurt has no plans to part ways with the French forward in the summer unless a club comes up with a nine-figure transfer fee. Manchester United has also been linked heavily with Kolo Muani, but Sport1 does suggest that he prefers a move to Bayern over other clubs.

It remains to be seen if Bayern has a firm interest in Kolo Muani. Sport1 is reporting that Bayern chiefs are scouring the transfer market for strikers. They are also following the situation of Kolo Muani, but a big offer in the summer is looking unlikely.

Previously, one report in Germany has suggested that Bayern may delay the signing of a striker in the summer. They have already secured the contract extension of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, while other forwards can also play this role. Since the market for strikers will be skewed in the summer, waiting longer for the right striker may work for Die Roten.

Kolo Muani may become a viable option if he continues to perform in the Bundesliga. The record Bundesliga champions will look to address other positions in the upcoming window before making a charge for a striker in 2024.
