Bayern Munich has been fortunate during the international break when it comes to injuries. Thomas Tuchel will have the majority of the senior squad available for selection on Saturday when Bayern will host Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. Mathys Tel is the only player that will miss this game after picking up an injury during the international break.

The record Bundesliga champions released a statement on Thursday to confirm that Tel will be out for the time being due to an adductor strain. The French forward picked up this injury during his time with France U-19 in the international break. Bild is reporting that Tel will be out of action for two to three weeks.

Apart from Der Klassiker, Bayern expect Tel to miss the next three-four games, which include big cup games against Manchester City and Freiburg. Die Roten will hope to have Tel fit for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals against Manchester City.

Mathys Tel has enjoyed a decent debut season in Bavaria after arriving from Rennes for a significant fee in the summer. The 17-year-old forward has scored four goals for Die Roten across all competitions. He has largely been a solid option from the bench for Bayern as he continues to take massive strides in his development.

Die Roten will not rush Mathys Tel back from the action to avoid any long-term effects of this injury. Thomas Tuchel has plenty of attacking options in the squad, so Tel will be allowed to take as much time as needed to recover from this injury.

Meanwhile, Leon Goretzka trained with the first team on Thursday. The German midfielder had suffered an injury during Germany’s 3-2 defeat against Belgium on Tuesday. It was a minor knock, so Goretzka is expected to be fit for the game against Dortmund. It remains to be seen if the German midfielder will be fit to start the game.

Jamal Musiala was also spotted in the first team training on Thursday. The young attacking midfielder had pulled out of Germany’s two friendly games due to a minor injury. He is likely to be fit for the Der Klassiker since he has started training with the team.
