The recently concluded international break saw a big change at Bayern Munich. The defending Bundesliga champions decided to part ways with Julian Nagelsmann due to inconsistent performances in the league over the last 12 months. Die Roten has replaced Nagelsmann with former Borussia Dortmund head coach Thomas Tuchel.

The arrival of a new coach generally impacts the future of several first-team players. The new coach may prefer to give a clean slate to everyone before making transfer decisions. However, it does look like the fate of Marcel Sabitzer at Bayern is decided despite the departure of Julian Nagelsmann.

According to Sport1’s Kerry Hau (via iMiaSanMia), Sabitzer is still expected to leave Bayern in the summer transfer window. The Austrian midfielder is currently enjoying a productive loan spell at Manchester United and has a good relationship with Erik Ten Hag. He doesn’t have a future in Bavaria despite the arrival of Thomas Tuchel.

Sabitzer joined Bayern in 2021 from RB Leipzig. The lifelong Die Roten fan finally got a move to Bavaria after impressing at Leipzig in the Bundesliga for several years. However, the move to Bavaria has not gone as per plans for Sabitzer.

The Austrian international struggled to get regular game time for Bayern during his debut season. There was a lot of speculation about his future at the club by the end of 2021/22. Several top clubs in Europe were reportedly interested in signing him. However, Marcel Sabitzer decided to stay in Bavaria last summer to fight for a place in the team.

The 2022/23 campaign started positively for Sabitzer at Bayern. He delivered good performances after getting an extended run of games in the starting XI. However, the return of Leon Goretzka from an injury saw Sabitzer get minutes from the bench, which eventually forced him to rethink his future in the winter transfer window.

Manchester United made a late loan offer for Sabitzer after Christian Eriksen suffered a serious injury at the end of January. The Austrian midfielder joined the Red Devils on a dry loan by the end of the deadline day. Sabitzer has enjoyed a good start to life at Old Trafford, getting back to his best after a difficult spell in Bavaria.

The Austrian international recently scored his first goal for Manchester United in FA Cup clash against Fulham. He also enjoyed a productive international break with Austria, contributing with two goals and one assist in a game. It remains to be seen if Manchester United will sign Sabitzer permanently, but he will definitely have several offers in the summer if he continues his good form in the next couple of months.
