Bayern Munich: Dayot Upamecano hungry to improve his game
The form of Bayern Munich has been up and down in the Bundesliga this season. However, they remain just only one point away from the top of the points table, which highlights the club’s high standards. The Bavarian club has remained unbeaten in the Champions League and DFB Pokal this season.
Some players have delivered standout performances for Bayern throughout the season, which has helped the team to remain in contention for all three trophies. In the defensive department, Dayot Upamecano has been the standout player for Rekordmeister.
The French defender has been holding the defense together this season. After a mixed debut season last year, Upamecano looks much more settled in the team. He was one of the best players on the pitch in the two round of 16 games against Paris Saint-Germain.

Dayot Upamecano also excelled for France in World Cup 2022. He was one of the standout performers for the French team that reached the final of the tournament. Didier Deschamps was pleased with the maturity and growth shown by Upamecano during the tournament. Recently, former French defender Marcel Dessaily backed Upamecano to become an all-time great French defender.
The former RB Leipzig defender also had a very productive last two weeks with the French team. He helped the French team to keep clean sheets against the Netherlands and the Republic of Ireland. Upamecano also scored the second goal against the Dutch side.
The Bavarian faithful will hope to see Upamecano maintain this form after the international break. Bayern is set to host Borussia Dortmund on Saturday. The Bavarian club needs to win this game to move back to the top of the points table. Die Roten will also face Freiburg in the DFB Pokal next week.
