After an eventful last week, Bayern Munich enters the crucial phase of the season. The Bavarian club will host Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in the Bundesliga. It will be the start of a run of tricky games across all competitions. The game against Dortmund is defining one in terms of the Bundesliga title race.

Thomas Tuchel will need the entire squad for the upcoming run of games. It does look like the German coach will have one of the key players available for the clash against Dortmund. As reported by Sky Sports in Germany, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was spotted training on the pitch at Sabner Strasse on Monday.

The Cameroon international has been on the sidelines for the past few days due to a back injury. He missed the game against Bayer Leverkusen due to the same injury. Choupo-Moting had to withdraw from Cameroon’s squad during the international to focus on recovery from this injury.

Choupo-Moting has been in fine goalscoring form for Bayern this season. He has scored 10 Bundesliga goals, putting him in the second spot in the list of top scorers for Die Roten in the league behind Jamal Musiala. His return will be a big boost to Die Roten’s chances of beating Dortmund on Saturday.

Moreover, Choupo-Moting has previously worked with Thomas Tuchel at Mainz and PSG. The 34-year-old forward knows Tuchel’s philosophy, so his presence on the pitch will definitely help the German coach from a tactical point of view. Die Roten will hope to see Choupo-Moting be part of full training midway through the week to achieve fitness for Der Klassiker.

Meanwhile, Jamal Musiala also keeps taking positive steps in his recovery from a hamstring strain. As per Sport1, Musiala is not feeling pain and can complete short sprints. A late decision will be made on his availability for Der Klassiker, but he is eager to play in the game.

Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane, and Bouna Sarr were also spotted in training at Sabner Strasse on Monday. They were not involved with respective national teams during the break. Lucas Hernandez is also taking big strides in his recovery from a cruciate ligament injury. The French defender is hoping to be fit by the end of the season.
