Bayern Munich recently secured the future of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The Cameroon international had entered the final six months of his last deal. He was attracting interest due to his incredible goal-scoring for Bayern this season. The Bavarian club eventually convinced him to sign a one-year deal.

Despite securing the immediate future of Choupo-Moting, Bayern may look for a striker in the summer transfer window. The record Bundesliga champions didn’t replace Robert Lewandowski last summer, so they may look to add one in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Since the market for strikers is very tricky, Bayern will have to be creative and look for good long-term options. Keeping these things in mind, it does look like Bayern is keenly following one of the young strikers from the Premier League.

According to 90min, Bayern is scouting Brighton’s Evan Ferguson. The Republic of Ireland forward has quickly established himself as a key player for Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi. Apart from Die Roten, the likes of Barcelona, Liverpool, and Manchester United are also following the 18-year-old striker.

Ferguson recently made his debut for Ireland. He has shown great maturity in the senior team at Brighton, scoring seven goals in 16 appearances across all competitions. The teenager also has three assists to his name this season, highlighting the creative side of his game.

The report from 90min insists that Ferguson is in no rush to decide the next step in his career. Brighton will not look to listen to offers for the teenager in the summer since his current deal expires in 2026. He is getting consistent playing time at Brighton in the Premier League, so it makes sense to stay and continue his development at the club.

Die Roten may consider Ferguson an option for the future if they decide against signing a striker in the next summer window. The Bavarian club has also been heavily linked with a move for Harry Kane. However, Tottenham Hotspur wants to keep the striker. The North London side will demand a crazy fee, which might be beyond Die Roten’s reach.

Meanwhile, Bayern is expected to complete the signing of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig. The Bavarian will go ahead with the deal despite the departure of Julian Nagelsmann. Laimer will arrive on a free transfer in the summer after his contract at RB Leipzig expires in June. The Austrian midfielder was subject to three failed bids from Bayern in the last summer transfer window.
