A new era will begin at Bayern Munich next week as Thomas Tuchel starts his stint at the club. The former Chelsea head coach was appointed as the new first-team head coach on Saturday. Die Roten moved quickly to reach an agreement with Tuchel this week after the club hierarchy decided to part ways with Julian Nagelsmann.

Tuchel will start working with the first team on Monday. Several first-team players are already at Sabner Strasse, so Tuchel is expected to work with them until the entire squad reports for training later in the week after the international break.

Bayern chiefs will also work on assembling the coaching staff of Thomas Tuchel in the next few days. The German coach has brought in two assistant coaches- Arno Michels and Zsolt Low. The two coaches have been working with Tuchel for the last ten years.

Tuchel also wants to bring a coach from Chelsea. While talking to the media on Saturday, Tuchel admitted that he would like to add Chelsea’s Anthony Barry to his coaching staff. Bayern is expected to hold talks with Chelsea to get Anthony Barry on board sooner rather than later.

The former PSG head coach had worked with Barry at Chelsea. After Tuchel left Stamford Bridge in October, Barry stayed at Chelsea to work with Graham Potter. As per Daily Telegraph, he is also working with the Portuguese national team. Barry is a highly-rated young coach, so Chelsea will try to keep him despite Tuchel’s eagerness to bring him to Bayern.

Meanwhile, Bayern has parted ways with Nagelsmann’s backroom staff. It is going to be an expensive sacking for Die Roten since they had paid €25 million to Leipzig for Nagelsmann. Moreover, the young German coach had signed a five-year deal in Bavaria. Die Roten is expected to pay him a salary until he lands another job.

The only head coach from Nagelsmann’s staff that will work with Tuchel is Michael Rechner. He recently arrived at Bayern from Hoffenheim. Rechner was signed to replace Toni Tapalovic, who left Die Roten after spending more than a decade with the first team.

Tuchel would hope to have Barry sooner rather than later. It may take some time since Chelsea is eager to keep him. The German coach will have a stern start to life in Bavaria as Die Roten host Borussia Dortmund next week in the Bundesliga. It is a defining game for the title race since both clubs are separated by a point in the table.
