Things are far from ideal at Bayern Munich despite some promising results on the pitch during March. The Bavarian club has strangely decided to part ways with Julian Nagelsmann. The German coach is expected to get the official communication on Friday as Die Roten gets ready to appoint Thomas Tuchel.

Meanwhile, Bayern chiefs are also worried about the form of one of their summer recruits. According to Sport1, Bayern is concerned with the recent form of Sadio Mane. The Senegalese forward has lacked the intensity since coming back to the team at the end of February after a three-month-long injury layoff.

Sadio Mane has been slowly integrated into the starting lineup after recovering from an injury to his tibia. He missed the World Cup due to this injury since it happened just before the tournament during the 6-1 win against Werder Bremen in November.

In the five appearances since the end of February, Mane has contributed just one assist during a 5-3 win against Augsburg. Sport1 is reporting that coaching staff and Bayern were concerned with the overall output from Mane since he is not winning duels across the pitch.

The former Liverpool forward was in good form before he suffered a serious injury against Werder Bremen. He already has 11 goals and five assists to his name across all competitions. The recent downturn in form does feel like the impact of the injury. Players often need more time to get back to their rhythm after being out of action for months.

Bayern will hope Mane gets more minutes under his belt with Senegal during the international break. The 30-year-old forward’s confidence will receive a further boost if he manages to be on the scoresheet in the two games against Mozambique. Despite his recent inconsistent performances, Mane should be the least of Bayern’s concerns right now.

The Senegalese forward has a knack for scoring goals in big games. A goal against Borussia Dortmund next weekend could kickstart his campaign. The Bavarian faithful will like to see their star forward get back in form after the international break, as big games will come thick and fast in April.

Meanwhile, Die Roten is sweating on the fitness of Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting ahead of next weekend’s Der Klassiker. The 34-year-old forward missed the clash against Bayer Leverkusen due to a back injury. He has withdrawn from Cameroon’s squad for the international break. Die Roten remains coy over his return as he continues his recovery at Sabner Strasse.
