Bayern Munich: Predicted Starting XI in home clash against Eintracht Frankfurt
Bayern Munich will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Bundesliga when they host Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The Bavarian club has dropped points in each of their first two games in Ruckrunde. The latest poor result for Bayern came against FC Koln on Tuesday, as they had to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Despite the two draws against RB Leipzig and Koln, Die Roten remains at the top of the points table. However, Bayern’s lead has been cut short to three points from four points due to these two results. Let us look at the possible starting XI that Julian Nagelsmann will field against Frankfurt on Saturday.
Team News
In the pre-match press conference on Friday, Nagelsmann ruled out Leon Goretzka for Saturday’s game due to muscular issues. It remains to be seen how long Goretzka will be out due to the latest muscular injury.
Manuel Neuer and Lucas Hernandez are long-term absentess for Bayern. Noussair Mazraoui will also miss this game as he continues to recover from illness. Sadio Mane has started training outdoors, but this game will come too soon for him. Bouna Sarr is also not yet ready to be part of the matchday squad.
Predicted Starting XI
Yann Sommer will continue to start in the goal for Bayern. The Swiss goalkeeper is still looking for his first clean sheet since arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach a week ago. Sommer will be much more settled in the team after training with the squad for more than a week.
Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt will continue in the heart of the defense for Die Roten. They are likely to start most of the games in the second half of the season due to Hernandez’s ligament injury. Alphonso Davies will start in the left-back position, while Benjamin Pavard will slot in the right-back position.
Ryan Gravenberch delivered a solid performance against Koln on Tuesday after coming on at halftime. The Dutch midfielder is set to get his first Bundesliga start on Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt. Gravenberch will play in the number eight role, while Joshua Kimmich will operate in the holding midfield position.

The French winger will start on the right flank, while Leroy Sane will operate from the left flank. Jamal Musiala will occupy the number ten position, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will lead the attack for the home side.
