The first half of the season ended on a good note for Bayern Munich. After a few setbacks in September, they recovered in October and November to end Hinrunde at the top of the points table. They also qualified for the third round of DFB Pokal and booked a place in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Jamal Musiala has contributed heavily to Bayern’s good first half of the season. The youngster continues to take massive strides in his development and become a key player for Die Roten. The Bavarian club considers him one of the indispensable players in the squad.

It is safe to say that Jamal Musiala has been the standout player in his age group across Europe this season. The stats also back Musiala’s brilliance this season. As per Opta, Musiala ended the year with the most goals and assists for a teenager in Europe’s top five leagues.

Musiala is currently the leading goalscorer for Die Roten in the Bundesliga with nine goals. He has a wide range of finishes in his locker, which makes him a devastating player in the final third. The German attacking midfielder has scored 12 goals in 24 appearances across all competitions, averaging a goal every alternate game.

The former Chelsea midfielder has worked hard to improve his scoring rate this season. Along with improving his finishing, Musiala continues to be a creative force for Bayern. He has six assists in the Bundesliga, most for a Bayern player this season. The youngster will be soon in double figures for goals and assists since he has eight assists in 24 games across all competitions.

Bayern wants to make sure that Musiala remains in Bavaria for a long time. He is already part of the core players in the first team this season. With more experience at the top level, Jamal Musiala is going to become an even more lethal player in the final third.

Die Roten will reportedly open talks with Musiala over a new deal sooner rather than later. Even though he still has just over three years left on his current deal, Bayern wants to reward his performances this season with an improved deal.

Musiala managed to emulate his form at the club level for Germany during the World Cup. However, Germany failed to make it beyond the group stage. The youngster will be looking to bounce back strongly with Die Roten in the second half of the season after enduring disappointment with Germany.
