The last 18 months have seen Bayern Munich making the right decisions related to the future of senior players. The Bavarian club extended the contracts of several players that are entering the peak of their careers. Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka, Kingsley Coman, and Serge Gnabry will be contributing to the club’s success for a long time.

Bayern was involved in lengthy contract negotiations to secure the future of all the above-mentioned four players. Coman and Gnabry were attracting interest from several clubs, but the Bavarian club convinced them to stay in Bavaria during the prime years of their career.

After securing the future of several senior players, Die Roten will be looking to secure the future of two young players in the squad. According to TZ in Germany (via iMiaSanMia), Bayern considers Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala as indispensable members of the first team. Both players are expected to get new deals sooner rather than later.

Davies has been subject to interest from Real Madrid. The Spanish club reportedly wants to sign him in 2024. However, Die Roten is expected to stay firm and extend Davies’ contract beyond 2025. He has been one of the standout full-backs in Europe since he was moved to the left-back position in 2019.

Meanwhile, Musiala has developed into an outstanding player during the last 18 months. After making his debut in 2020, Musiala has gone from strength to strength in the first team. He is currently the top scorer for Rekordmeister in the Bundesliga.

The youngster is also the heartbeat of the German national team as he shone in the World Cup 2022. His current deal in Bavaria is set to expire in 2026, but Bayern will definitely look to reward him for showing great consistency in the first team.

Bayern cannot afford to lose Davies and Musiala to European rivals, so it will not be surprising to see contract talks starting with both by the end of the current season. Both players can be part of the first team’s spine for the next decade. Several top clubs will always be in the mix for them, so Die Roten needs to carefully manage the length of their contracts.

Apart from Musiala and Davies, Bayern also wants to extend the contract of Lucas Hernandez. The French defender has 18 months left on his current deal. Hernandez is a key player for Bayern and Nagelsmann, so extending his contract makes a lot of sense. The Frenchman is currently on the sidelines due to a serious knee injury, but Bayern reportedly wants to go ahead with contract talks in the second half of the season.
