The 2020/21 campaign was very productive for Hasan Salihamidzic when it comes to contract renewals of key players at Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club made sure that there is long-term stability in the midfield by handing long-term deals to Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka.

Die Roten also managed to strengthen the attack by handing new contracts to Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry. Both wingers will be spending the peak of their careers in Bavaria. The only disappointment Bayern faced was in contract talks with Robert Lewandowski and Niklas Sule. They eventually left Bavaria in the last summer transfer window.

Salihamidzic deserves a lot of credit for completing successful contract talks with these four players. He will be hoping to achieve similar success in the next 12 months when he starts negotiating deals for other key players in the squad.

Leroy Sane will be next in line for contract talks with the record Bundesliga champions. According to SportBild (via iMiaSanMia), Die Roten is planning to extend Sane’s deal during the summer. The Bavarian club wants to make sure that negotiations are concluded before the start of the season. Sane’s current deal is set to expire in 2025.

Sane has been largely good for Bayern since arriving from Manchester City in 2020. He has endured difficult spells, but the German forward has always chipped in with a good number of goals and assists every season. It is a testament to his talent that the Bavarian faithful are yet to see his best despite his good numbers in the final third over the last three seasons. Julian Nagelsmann has managed to provide the right platform for Sane to thrive in his system. The German winger plays on the left flank but often occupies central areas of the pitch to score goals and create chances for his teammates. Die Roten hopes to see this duo keep working productively at the club for a long time.

Sane is entering the peak years of his career since he will be turning 27 in January. It is a no-brainer for Bayern to secure his future. The Bavarian club will be hoping for a swift conclusion to negotiations since Sane has largely looked content at the club after arriving from Manchester City.
