Germany had an underwhelming and disappointing outing at World Cup 2022 in Qatar. They failed to get out of the group stage for the second consecutive World Cup. Amidst the disappointing outcome of the World Cup 2022, Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala was the only shining light for Germany.

Musiala excelled for Germany in all of their three group games. He created most chances for Germany while playing on the left flank. His creativity helped Germany to pin down the opposition, but failure to finish chances cost them the defeat against Japan.

Jamal Musiala has been in fine form for Bayern Munich this season. After the departure of Robert Lewandowski, the German youngster has taken up the mantle of scoring regularly for the first team. He is Die Roten’s leading goalscorer in the Bundesliga with nine goals in 15 games. Musiala has also chipped in with six assists in the Bundesliga.

Musiala has steadily evolved into a crucial first-team player at Bayern in the last 18 months. Die Roten has secured the youngster’s immediate future, but they want to go one step ahead and ensure that Musiala plays in Bavaria for most of his career.

According to SportBild, Bayern is planning to open contract talks with Musiala. The young attacking midfielder’s current deal expires in 2026, but Die Roten is eager to reward his development with a longer and improved deal.

The report from SportBild also reveals that Musiala’s current deal sees his salary improve every year, provided he keeps meeting the sporting objectives. The next deal for Musiala is likely to be even more lucrative if he cements a place in the first team like he has done this season.

Bayern most likely considers Musiala the next Thomas Muller or Philipp Lahm in the current squad. Muller and Lahm spent their entire career in Bavaria and won several trophies together. Jamal Musiala also has the potential to emulate both Bayern legends and become a successful player for the club.

Next. Bayern has no plans to move for Joao Felix in January. dark

Die Roten may look to open contract talks with Jamal Musiala at the end of the season. He still has four years left on his contract, so Rekordmeister may look to sort out the futures of players that have fewer years left on their contracts. Extending the contract of Lucas Hernandez is an immediate priority of Bayern. The Bavarian club will look to reach an agreement with the French defender in Ruckrunde since his current deal expires in 2024.
