Bayern Munich has been on the receiving end of injury problems in the first week of World Cup 2022. The Bavarian club had Sadio Mane ruled out for a lengthy period on the eve of the tournament. Mane had suffered an injury to his tibia during Die Roten’s 6-1 win against Werder Bremen in the second week of November.

Lucas Hernandez was the second Bayern injury casualty at the World Cup 2022. The French defender ruptured his ACL in the right knee while playing against Australia in the first group game on Tuesday. He has undergone surgery to repair the damage, but he is unlikely to play again this season.

After Hernandez’s serious knee injury, Noussair Mazraoui was stretchered off during the game between Morocco and Croatia. The 25-year-old Bayern right-back had suffered a hip injury, but Die Roten is receiving a positive update on his recovery.

According to Footmercato, Mazraoui is confident about playing again in this World Cup. The former Ajax defender is a doubt for the game against Belgium later this week. However, Mazraoui could make a return against Canada as he takes positive steps toward recovering from the hip injury. Moroccon FA is in touch with Bayern on the recovery of Noussair Mazraoui.

Morocco needs positive results against Belgium and Canada after a scoreless draw against Croatia in the first group game. Noussair Mazraoui will be eager to play against Belgium, but it will not be wise to take a risk if he has not completely recovered from the injury. Morocco will realistically hope that Mazraoui can come off the bench against Belgium.

Meanwhile, Leroy Sane is back in full training for Germany. Sane had missed the game against Japan due to a minor injury. He is expected to feature against Spain on Sunday. His return to fitness is a boost for Germany, as they need a win against Spain to remain in contention for a place in the next round.

On the other hand, Kingsley Coman didn’t complete training with the French team on Thursday. Coman is reportedly carrying a minor muscular discomfort. It remains to be seen if this issue will keep him out of the game against Denmark on Saturday. Coman came off the bench late in the second half against Australia.

The rest of the Bayern contingent is fit for the second round of group games. Matthijs de Ligt is expected to start for the Dutch team against Ecuador later today. The Dutch team can take a concrete step towards qualification by winning against the South American team. Other Bayern players will be in action over the weekend.
