Bundesliga MD 14: Bayern Munich look to continue winning run against Werder Bremen
The final week before players leave for World Cup will witness two matchdays in the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich will be first hosting Werder Bremen on Tuesday before travelling away to Schalke on Saturday. The game against Bremen provides Die Roten an opportunity to make it five league wins in a row.
Bayern were not at their best against Hertha Berlin last weekend, but they managed to grind out a victory to extend the recent good run of form. Courtesy of the win against Hertha, Die Roten moved to the top of the points table. They will be looking to consolidate their hold at the top of the points table by registering a win against Bremen in the final home game of 2022. Meanwhile, Bremen will be looking to make it three league wins in a row on Tuesday. An exciting midweek Bundesliga encounter awaits at Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
Team News
Matthijs de Ligt continues to remain on the sidelines after suffering a minor muscle injury against Mainz a week ago. The Dutch defender is expected to be fit for the World Cup. Thomas Muller will also miss the game against Werder Bremen as he recovers from a hip injury.
Alphonso Davies will also miss the game on Tuesday after getting injured against Hertha Berlin. The Canadian full-back is not in danger of missing the World Cup for Canada. Dayot Upamecano is carrying a knock, but he is expected to play against Bremen. Meanwhile, Josip Stanisic will miss out due to illness. Bouna Sarr remains the long-term absentee for Die Roten.
Predicted Starting XI
Manuel Neuer made his return to the starting XI against Hertha Berlina after three weeks on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury. The German international is expected to start against Bremen on Tuesday. He will be looking to use the two Bundesliga games this week to get into the rhythm before the World Cup.
Benjamin Pavard and Dayot Upamecano will continue to play in central defense since de Ligt is ruled out for this game. The French duo had a difficult time against Hertha, so they will be looking to bounce back on Tuesday. Lucas Hernandez will replace Davies in the left-back position, while Noussair Mazraoui will start on the right side of the back four.
Nagelsmann is unlikely to bench Joshua Kimmich on Tuesday since he is a crucial player in the number six role. However, Leon Goretzka may make way for Marcel Sabitzer. Goretzka has been in fine form lately, but Sabitzer has also done a good job whenever he has played. It is more about rotation rather than the form of players.
Jamal Musiala will slot in the number ten role in the absence of Muller. The German teenager will be flanked by Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman in the final third. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will lead the attack as he eyes a goal in the third consecutive Bundesliga game.

Score Prediction
Bayern Munich 4-1 Werder Bremen
Werder Bremen has done well this season, but it will be difficult for them to stop Bayern at Allianz Arena. There has been a clinical edge to Die Roten’s recent victories. We are expecting a similar trend to follow against Bremen on Tuesday.
