UCL Preview: Bayern Munich host Inter Milan on matchday 6
The final matchday of the Champions League in 2022 will be eventful for Bayern Munich as they host Inter Milan. Both teams have qualified for the next round, but they remain eager to end the group stage on a high note. Bayern has the motivation to make it six wins in the group, while a win at Allianz Arena will further boost the confidence of Simone Inzaghi’s Inter Milan.
Bayern will be hosting Inter on the back of a thrilling 6-2 win against Mainz on Saturday. The Bavarian club is currently on an unbeaten run of nine games across all competitions. Meanwhile, Inter Milan also had a good weekend as they clinched a comfortable 3-0 win against Sampdoria. It is going to be a fascinating contest between two in-form teams.
Team News
Bayern will have several absentees for the game against Inter Milan. Leroy Sane and Lucas Hernandez have returned to first-team training, but this game comes too soon for them. Thomas Muller continues to train individually as he recovers from a minor hip problem.
Manuel Neuer will miss the game against Inter as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury. Matthijs de Ligt has survived an injury scare, but Die Roten will not be taking any chances with him. He will be rested for the game against Inter after coming off at half-time against Mainz on Saturday due to a knock. Bouna Sarr remains the only long-term absentee for Bayern.
Predicted Starting XI
Julian Nagelsmann is expected to heavily rotate the team after the top spot in the group was clinched last week. Sven Ulreich will keep his place in the team as Neuer continues to recover from a shoulder injury. The German goalkeeper will be looking to get another clean sheet in Europe after stopping Barcelona from scoring at Camp Nou.
Benjamin Pavard will get a rare opportunity in central defense on Tuesday. The French international is reportedly frustrated with the lack of playing time in the heart of the defense. Pavard will be paired with Dayot Upamecano, while Noussair Mazraoui and Josip Stanisic will slot in the full-back positions.
Leon Goretzka will get a deserved rest on Tuesday after starting every game in the past few weeks. Ryan Gravenberch will replace the German midfielder in the center of the park. Joshua Kimmich will start against Inter since Nagelsmann will be looking for a good mix of youth and experience in central midfield.
Mattys Tel will get an opportunity against Inter Milan on Tuesday. The youngster came off the bench against Mainz to score Die Roten’s fifth goal. He will slot on the left flank, while Kingsley Coman will play on the right side of the front three. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting will be the focal point of the attack, while Jamal Musiala will play the number ten role behind him.

Score Prediction
Bayern Munich 2-1 Inter Milan
Even though Nagelsmann will make several changes to the starting lineup, Bayern is the marginal favourite to win the game on Tuesday. They have enjoyed an impressive record at Allianz Arena in the Champions League, so we are backing them to clinch a narrow victory against Inter.
