The last few weeks have been dominated by negative news around Bayern Munich since results have gone downhill in the Bundesliga. After enjoying an explosive start in the league, Die Roten has struggled in the last four games. They have suffered three draws and one defeat during this poor run of form.

Jamal Musiala has been the sole shining light for Bayern throughout the season. After two solid seasons under his belt, Musiala has stepped up massively in an advanced role for Die Roten. He has thrived in a much-advanced role for Bayern this season.

Musiala has scored five goals for Die Roten this season. He also has one assist to his name in the Bundesliga. The teenager has been terrorizing Bundesliga defenders with his quick feet and astute awareness in tight spaces. Musiala has slowly cemented his place in Die Roten’s strongest starting XI.

Along with Bayern, expectations are huge from Musiala when he plays for Germany. He is set to start against England later today, a country that he opted against representing on the international stage. While talking to media over the weekend (via iMiaSanMia), Musiala admitted that he is unaffected by the high expectations German fans have from him this year.

"“My goal is to develop and I’m doing well right now. I don’t feel any pressure and I want to help the team win as many games as possible.”"

After struggling in the World Cup 2018, Germany has managed to build momentum under Hansi Flick. They are expected to do much better in Qatar later this year and challenge for the trophy. Jamal Musiala is set to be a crucial member of the team since his creativity and awareness in the final third is a big asset.

Bayern also deserves a lot of credit for carefully handling the development of Musiala. He has not been overplayed in the last two seasons. The youngster got adequate playing time to develop at the top level. Musiala has responded well to various situations in the last two years to become an important player for the first team.

Musiala was not on the winning side when England and Germany faced each other at Wembley in Euros 2021. The youngster will be looking to get things right this time and help Germany to bounce back strongly from last week’s 2-0 defeat against Hungary.

Julian Nagelsmann will also need Musiala to maintain consistency in his performances throughout the season. The German coach will be counting on Jamal Musiala to help in stopping Die Roten’s recent slump and get back to winning ways against Bayer Leverkusen on Friday.
