The spotlight will be on Bayern Munich in Germany after the international break. The defending Bundesliga champions have lately struggled in the league for results and performances. Die Roten is currently on a winless run of four league games. Courtesy of three draws and one defeat, Bayern has slipped to the fifth position in the points table.

The performance against Augsburg before the international break was flat. They struggled to create clear-cut chances against Augsburg and looked vulnerable at the back on several occasions. Augsburg eventually got the goal and maintained good shape defensively to clinch the three points.

Julian Nagelsmann needs to find a way to get the team back on track in the Bundesliga as soon as possible. The German coach is under pressure after recent results, but the club chiefs have backed him in the media to squash speculation around his future at the club.

The international break provided enough time for Nagelsmann and Bayern to reflect on the team’s performances this season. While talking to Bild over the weekend, Bayern Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic promised that team would respond strongly after the break. Salihamidzic is expecting more energy and intensity from the team in the upcoming games across all competitions.

"“We will show a different face after the international break. And I expect that too. Physical intensity, hunger and the willingness to push yourself to the limit in every game. We also need a much better, more focused chance conversion.”“Our players have quality, mentality and character, they want and will show that. The upcoming games against Leverkusen, Plzeň and Dortmund are exactly the right stage for that.”"

Salihamidzic also insisted that Bayern completely trusts Nagelsmann to arrest the slump and bring the team back on track in the Bundesliga. He insisted that Bayern did a lot of positive things this season until now despite the four poor results in the Bundesliga over the past few weeks.

October will be crucial for Die Roten as they will play a game every three days. It is the ideal time to build momentum before players disperse for World Cup in November. The next three games will help in setting the tone for the busy schedule for Bayern.

Salihamidzic also insisted that the entire squad needs to find the rhythm this season. He expects every player in the squad to have a big say this season due to the congestion of fixtures. Julian Nagelsmann will have to find the right balance in rotation to extract quality performances from the team.

Die Roten may have to deliver a good performance against Leverkusen on Friday without Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka. After testing positive for coronavirus last week, both players have doubts about this game. They are likely to be available for the Champions League game against Plzen.
