The international breaks often bring anxious wait for clubs since players tend to pick up injuries during their stay with national teams. Bayern Munich has endured bad luck in this matter on numerous occasions in the last few seasons.

Ahead of the crucial Bundesliga game against Bayer Leverkusen next week, Bayern could be without two international stars. According to Bild, there is a good chance of Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka missing the game against Leverkusen at Allianz Arena on September 30.

Neuer and Gortezka left the German camp this week after testing positive for coronavirus. The German duo may end up missing the game against Leverkusen since they will have to be in isolation to recover completely from the virus.

Manuel Neuer will be a big miss for Die Roten since he has been in good form this season. With the pressure mounting on the team due to a winless run of four league games, the absence of Neuer will be a big blow.

Sven Ulreich will replace Neuer in the starting lineup. Ulreich couldn’t step up in the absence of Neuer last season, so it will be a big opportunity for him to make amends against tricky opposition in the Bundesliga.

Meanwhile, Nagelsmann will have quality options to replace Goretzka. Marcel Sabitzer will return to the team after dropping to the bench against Augsburg last week. Ryan Gravenberch is another midfield option for the German coach to replace Goretzka. Nagelsmann can also count on Musiala as an option in central midfield since he did a fine job in this role last season.

Bayern is hoping to have Kingsley Coman available for the game against Leverkusen after he started training on the pitch this week. The French winger has missed the last three games across all competitions due to a hamstring injury. Coman’s return will be a big boost for Die Roten since he has been in good form this season.

Lucas Hernandez and Bouna Sarr are not expected to be available for the game against Leverkusen. Hernandez has been ruled out for four to six weeks due to an adductor injury he suffered against Barcelona. Meanwhile, Sarr is ruled out until January after he underwent surgery a few days ago to resolve a recurring knee problem. Die Roten has survived a major injury scare in this international break as Jamal Musiala returned to training for Germany on Wednesday after recovering from a minor knock that he suffered in training earlier this week.
