Bayern Munich: Malik Tillman enjoys terrific start to loan spell at Rangers
Bayern Munich confirmed the departure of Joshua Zirkzee on Tuesday. The Dutch striker completed a permanent move to Bologna after having an impressive loan spell at Anderlecht last season. Bayern retains a buy-back clause in this deal since Zirkzee is likely to get better with more playing time.
Zirkzee was the biggest success story for Die Roten in terms of loan deals last season. The Bavarian club found an ideal environment for the Dutch forward to thrive and get back to his best after a disappointing 2020/21 campaign.
The early shout for this summer’s best loan deal for Bayern is Malik Tillman’s move to Rangers. The young forward has hit the ground running for the Scottish league. Tillman has already managed to break into the starting lineup and become a vital player for the club in his first month in Scotland.
Malik Tillman has managed to score a goal in four league appearances for Rangers. He is currently averaging 1.8 shots per game. The youngster has shown glimpses of his talent in these appearances. The 20-year-old forward has played a big role in Rangers’ successful qualification for the group stages of the Champions League. Tillman scored the crucial third goal in the first leg of the penultimate qualifying round against Union St.Gilloise. Rangers ended up going into the next qualifying round with an aggregate score of 3-2 against the Belgian side.
Tillman also provided the crucial assist in the 1-0 win against PSV Eindhoven last week to help Rangers to seal the qualification for the Champions League. The youngster was handed a start by Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the second leg against PSV. Tillman repaid the faith of the Dutch coach by delivering a solid performance in the wide position. It is going to be a big season for Tillman. The youngster will be hoping to build on the superb start to his season with Rangers. His chances of playing for the USA in the World Cup will increase if he continues to perform well at Rangers. Giovanni van Bronckhorst has a lot of faith in Tillman, so the youngster has got ideal environment to continue his development.
Rangers have the option to buy Tillman next summer, but Die Roten does have a buy-back option in this deal. The Bavarian club will be hoping that Tillman continues to take big strides in his development this season and eventually become a part of the first team in Bavaria from next season.
