Hasan Salihamidzic has done a tremendous job for Bayern Munich in the transfer market this summer. The club’s sporting director has acted quickly and completed five deals for new arrivals before the start of the new season.
The Bavarian club also managed to get a fee worth €50 million for Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker was eager to seal a move to FC Barcelona. Salihamidzic managed to sort the future of fringe players in the squad and get a favourable deal for all parties.
The former Bayern midfielder was under pressure this summer due to poor transfer windows for the last two years. Salihamidzic needed a big window this year to make a case for a new contract. He has managed to do it by getting top players like Sadio Mane and Matthijs de Ligt. The squad has also been strengthened by promising talents such as Mathys Tel, Noussair Mazraoui, and Ryan Gravenberch.
Die Roten and Hasan Salihamidzic started working on summer transfers at the start of 2022. The Bavarian club also explored a possible deal for Borussia Dortmund Erling Haaland. While talking to Phrasenmäher (via iMiaSanMia), Salihamidzic confirmed talks with Haaland regarding a new deal.
"“We’ve had a few conversations, of course, that’s not a secret. We had things in mind that we could do. In the end it didn’t work out for various reasons. I don’t want to blame the player for that. He chose what he thinks is better for him.”"
Haaland was expected to leave Dortmund this summer at the start of last season. Die Roten explored a move for the Norwegian striker to find a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski. If the Polish striker had confirmed his desire internally at the start of the year, then the German report confirming talks between Rekordmeister and Haaland in April could be right.
Eventually, Haaland decided to leave Bundesliga and join Manchester City. The Premier League champions activated his release clause worth £51 million and made him one of the best-paid players in the Premier League. Haaland would have been the best-paid player at Bayern if he had agreed to a move to Bavaria.
Nevertheless, Bayern will be pleased with their transfer business this summer. The defending champions have started the new campaign in the best possible manner. Die Roten is scoring goals for fun and tightening things at the back.

Julian Nagelsmann is able to field a fluid front three after the departure of Lewandowski. The front four has linked up brilliantly in the first four games of the season. Despite having quality versatile forwards in the squad, Hasan Salihamidzic has not ruled out a deal for a new number in the next two years.
