On Matchday three of the Bundesliga, league leaders Bayern Munich was hosted by VfL Bochum. Die Roten continued to maintain their perfect start to the season on Sunday by hammering seven past Bochum. Here are Bayern’s top performers from another resounding victory in the Bundesliga.
Leroy Sane
In his first start to the season, Leroy Sane delivered a statement performance. In just four minutes, Sane found the back of the net in brilliant style. Hammering his shot with his right foot from the distance, the ball curled perfectly into the top left corner. It wasn’t even two minutes later that Sane had another incredible shot, but he was denied by the post.
With his darting runs on the left side and down through the middle of the pitch, Die Roten’s game ran through Sane. Bochum also tried to put a lot of pressure in these zones to make sure Sane is not getting on the ball regularly. However, the German winger found solutions on most occasions and played a key role in the team’s victory.
Sadio Mane
Sadio Mane is adequately replacing Robert Lewandowski in the number nine position at Bayern Munich. After failing to find the back of the next last week, Mane was able to put three past Bochum today– even though one was disallowed due to a handball.
Scoring twice in the span of 18 minutes, Mane is continuing to prove his worth in this Bayern side. The pressure he put on the Bochum defense was relentless, nobody was able to keep up with him. The first goal came from an excellent run combined with a brilliant piece of dribbling to beat both the defender and the keeper, leaving the net wide open. With his immaculate skill and goals, Sadio Mane added another world-class performance to his Bayern portfolio.
Kingsley Coman
After serving the suspension, Kingsley Coman came to prove a point on Sunday. In his first league start of the season, Coman grabbed himself a goal and a brace of assists. Though the goal was nothing too spectacular, it showed the Frenchman’s great composure in the box.
After a shot from Thomas Muller rebounded into open play, Coman neatly slotted it into the back of the net for Bayern’s third goal. In addition to the score, Coman assisted in Sane’s opening goal and Mane’s first– which was quite a spectacular through-ball.

In the game against Bochum, Coman showed how he is a true triple-threat: the ability to score, the ability to provide, and the pace. With a performance of this magnitude, no one else deserves to be Man of the Match other than Kingsley Coman.
After scoring 15 goals across just three games, Bayern Munich will be looking to continue the bombardment of goals in their next match against Monchengladbach on Aug. 27.
