It has been a remarkable summer transfer window for Bayern Munich. After a disappointing season last year, Die Roten acted in the transfer market to strengthen the squad. The Bavarian club has made five signings this summer to strengthen in defense, midfield, and attack.

The defending Bundesliga champions also managed to get a sizeable fee for Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker had only one year left in his contract at Die Roten, and he was eager to seal a transfer to FC Barcelona.

Lewandowski was the headline departure at Bayern. Apart from the Polish striker, Niklas Sule and Corentin Tolisso left on a free transfer. All three players have been adequately replaced by younger players as Die Roten completed deals for Sadio Mane, Matthijs de Ligt, and Ryan Gravenberch.

Hasan Salihamidzic has been at the heart of all the transfer activity done this summer. He has been under scrutiny in the past couple of years for poor transfers, but he deserves credit for concluding big deals this summer. Salihamidzic also deserves plaudits for completing all deals before the start of the season.

According to Kicker (via iMiaSanMia), Hasan Salihamidzic is set to be rewarded for his work with a new three-year deal. The former Bayern midfielder may sign the new deal after the transfer window since there is still work to do on the departures of a few players in the senior squad.

Hasan Salihamidzic has also done a great job in securing the future of key players in the last 12 months. Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka signed new deals at the start of last season. Thomas Muller and Manuel Neuer signed short-term deals, which suggests that they are likely to end their career in Bavaria.

The biggest coup in terms of contract negotiations for Salihamidzic was that of Kingsley Coman in January 2022. The French winger was expected to leave Bavaria this summer, but he was eventually convinced to pledge peak years of his years at Die Roten. Serge Gnabry also followed him with a new deal earlier this summer.

Bayern has also been efficient this summer in terms of getting good fees for fringe players. The departures of Omar Richards, Chris Richards, Tanguy Nianzou, and Marc Roca have helped in balancing the books. Moreover, Bayern has also included buy-back or sell-on clauses in most of the deals. After enduring the stringent criticism from fans, Hasan Salihamidzic has done enough good work in the last 12 months to get a contract renewal.
