Leroy Sane show promising signs in 45 minutes

Bayern was forced to make a substitute at half-time due to injury. Serge Gnabry had an adductor problem, so he had to come off the pitch and make way for Leroy Sane during the break. It was a big opportunity for Sane to make an impression, and he kinda managed to do it.

The German winger almost made an instant impact at the start of the second half. He combined well with Jamal Musiala at the edge of the box to unleash a powerful shot at the goal.  Koen Casteels showed great awareness and athleticism to parry the shot out of play.

Sane consistently found himself in good positions in the final third during the second half. The German winger attempted four shots with two on target, most for a Bayern player in the second half. Sane’s linkup play with other forwards was also promising.

The German international looked determined to make the most of this opportunity but was not trying too hard to impress. He retained the ball well in the final third and got himself in good scoring positions. Sane’s promising performance and hunger to do well were a result of having healthy competition across the front four. It is up to Julian Nagelsmann to get the most out of all forwards by rotating adequately throughout the season. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)
