First clean sheet of the season

The first two games of the season showed glimpses of the frightening fluid front four. They managed to suffocate teams in the final third and consistently create chances in the first half of the game. The persistence to win the ball higher up the pitch has been backed by efficient finishing, making it easy for them to see out the game.

Despite scoring five or more goals in both games, Bayern didn’t manage to deliver a perfect performance. They failed to keep clean sheets in both games and ended up conceding poor goals. Most of these four goals conceded in the last two games have been collective problems.

Julian Nagelsmann will be hoping that there is a better defensive performance from his team on Sunday. They need to become a much more resolute defensive unit to compete on all fronts. The defensive shortcomings led to their downfall in the cup competitions last season.

Manuel Neuer was at fault for the goal against Eintracht Frankfurt. The German international will be eager to get the first clean sheet of the season on Sunday and set the tone for the season. There are no doubts about the potential of Bayern’s attacking unit, but they need to improve defensively this season to win more than one trophy.
