Ryan Gravenberch

Bayern suffered last season due to a lack of quality in the midfield department. With Leon Goretzka out with injury for large portions of the season at a time, the midfield department needed further injection of talent. Ryan Gravenberch was signed for that very reason.

The Dutch midfielder will be looking to get a start sooner than expected now that it has been announced that Goretzka will again be sidelined due to injury. With the departures of both Marc Roca and Corentin Tolisso, there is little competition for him to fill in that starting role. Gravenberch was Ajax’s key midfielder in the last two seasons, scoring eight goals and raking in ten assists.

With an additional ten starts for the Netherlands national team, Gavernberch will be ready to break into Bayern’s first team. He will pair nicely with Kimmich playing at stopper but could easily find himself breaking forward into the attack with how much pace the youngster has.

The arrival of Gravenberch could also benefit Goretzka by giving him some much-needed recovery time to reduce the chance of future injury. At the young age of 20, Ryan Gravenberch is a very exciting prospect for the German champions.
