After a strong start to the summer transfer window with three new arrivals in June, Bayern Munich suffered a setback in July. The Bavarian club had to reluctantly part ways with Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker sealed a move to FC Barcelona for €50 million, including bonuses.

Die Roten had strengthened the attacking options in the squad by signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool earlier this summer. However, they need one more forward to fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski. The German Champions have gone down the route of getting a young forward instead of signing a superstar to replace the Polish striker.

Bayern had identified Mathys Tel as the next top target to improve the attack a few weeks ago. The Bavarian club finally got their man as Tel completed a switch to Munich on Tuesday. The young French striker arrived in Germany on Monday to complete the final details of the transfer. Eventually, Rekordmeister made his transfer official on Tuesday.

Tel is yet to turn 18, but Die Roten already considers him to be part of the first team for next season. He will be wearing the number 39 kit for the German Champions. The youngster trained with the team in the afternoon and should be fit enough to be in the squad for the Supercup game against RB Leipzig this weekend.

Mathys Tel is set to be the last signing Die Roten will be making this summer to strengthen the attack. The Bavarian club is not expected to splurge money on another striker to replace Lewandowski. Tel is expected to get a considerable amount of playing time in the upcoming campaign.

Apart from Tel, Bayern can use Sadio Mane as a number nine. The Senegalese forward thrived in this position for Liverpool last season. Julian Nagelsmann will be hoping that Mane can replicate those performances in Bavarian colours.

Serge Gnabry, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, and Thomas Muller are also other options for Nagelsmann in the number nine role. The Bavarian attack is likely to be more flexible next season. Nagelsmann will be expecting an even distribution of goals amongst all forwards instead of depending on one striker to score 40 goals.

Meanwhile, Joshua Zirkzee may end up leaving Die Roten permanently after the signing of Tel. The Dutch forward wants to play regularly next season after enjoying a productive campaign at Anderlecht. Ajax has been strongly linked with a move for the 21-year-old forward.
