Five goals against Wolfsburg after coming off the bench

Lewandowski has started most of the games throughout his eight seasons at Bayern. The Polish striker averaged 46 appearances per season in Bavaria. However, his most ruthless goal-scoring performance for Die Roten was in a game where he came off the bench.

In September 2015, Bayern was trailing against Wolfsburg at half-time. Pep Guardiola turned to Robert Lewandowski to make a comeback in the game. The Polish striker came on after half-time and changed the nature of the result on its head by the hour mark.

Lewandowski managed to score whopping five goals in nine minutes. Every goal had a different finish, which highlighted how good a striker Lewandowski was for Die Roten. He managed to score in and outside the box. He rounded off an incredible performance by scoring an acrobatic goal.  In this astonishing nine minutes, Robert Lewandowski became the quickest to score a hattrick, four goals, and five goals in a Bundesliga game.

Everything Lewandowski touched in this game turned to gold. After an average debut season with Die Roten, the Poland international regained momentum with an astonishing performance at Allianz Arena. He ended up scoring 40+ goals in each of the seven seasons after this performance against Wolfsburg. The exploits against Wolfsburg will go down as one of the best individual performances in the Bundesliga’s history.
