When Bayern Munich acquired young Serge Gnabry from Werder Bremen in 2017, they were continuing their commitment to signing promising young German talents. Gnabry has repaid the faith emphatically by delivering quality performances over the last four seasons.

In order to get more experience, the Bavarian club loaned the European Under-21 champion to Hoffenheim for the 2017–18 campaign. After working well under Julian Nagelsmann at Hoffenheim, Gnabry returned to Bavaria in 2018 and established himself as a crucial member of the starting lineup.

In a group of quality attackers that included Franck Ribery, Arjen Robben, and Thomas Muller, Gnabry was able to stand out and get enough playing time. With his ability to use both feet and be successful in several offensive circumstances, Gnabry has established himself as a very flexible attacking player.

Gnabry was voted by fans as Bayern Munich’s 2018–19 Player of the Season. With Die Roten, he has won four Bundesliga championships, two DFB-Pokals, the FIFA Club World Cup, and the Champions League. In 170 appearances, the German international scored 64 goals and provided 40 assists for Die Roten.

Along with playing on both flanks, Gnabry can also operate as a number nine. He successfully played this role for the German national team. Nagelsmann also managed to use him in the wing-back role to a good effect. The Bavarian faithful will be hoping that Die Roten doesn’t lose a versatile player like Gnabry as he continues to hold contract talks.
