The current transfer window has seen Bayern Munich improving their options in the attack. The arrival of Sadio Mane from Liverpool will give Die Roten much more cutting edge in the final third. It will also provide healthy competition to the wingers already present in the squad. The Bavarian club is looking to add more talent to the attack before the end of the window.
According to L’Equipe in France (via GGFN), Bayern had a bid rejected by Rennes for Mathys Tel. The French media outlet insisted that the first bid was worth less than €10 million. Sky Sports in Germany had reported that Die Roten’s first bid for a 17-year-old forward was close to €7 million. Rennes is looking for a fee bigger than €10 million for the young striker.
Sky Sports in Germany has given further details about the possible transfer. They have reported that there is an agreement on personal terms between Die Roten and Tel. Moreover, the teenager is set to be part of the first team instead of the youth setup. Tel has asked Rennes for a transfer after Die Roten made the first bid for him.
The French forward featured for the senior team at Rennes last season. He can play anywhere across the front three. It remains to be seen how Bayern plans to use him in the senior team if the transfer is completed in the coming days.
Rekordmeister has probably provided a concrete plan to the young forward since personal terms are already agreed. Considering the transfer fee is likely to be significant, it is not surprising to see him involved in the first team. He could end up following the path of Jamal Musiala to establish himself as the first team player at Bayern.
The Bavarian club will have to significantly increase the bid as Rennes is looking for an eight-digit fee for the young forward. Since he is set to be part of the first-team setup, Die Roten will be looking to seal the transfer before the squad leaves for the pre-season tour later this month.

Die Roten may not be finished with strengthening the attack this window by signing Tel. The Bavarian club could end up losing Robert Lewandowski to FC Barcelona in the next few weeks. The German Champions will need a top-quality striker to replace the prolific Polish forward. Barcelona had three bids rejected for Lewandowski until now, but they are getting close to Die Roten’s evaluation.
Meanwhile, Bayern is set to lose Kenan Yildiz. As per Fabrizio Romano, Juventus and Barcelona are competing for the signing of the teenager. The young midfielder will be leaving Bavaria after failing to reach an agreement on a new deal with the German club. Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed that Die Roten couldn’t meet the financial demands of Yildiz.
