Goal of the season

Rahul Asnani – Robert Lewandowski against Bayer Leverkusen

It was an instinctive finish. The ball from Leroy Sane was at a distance from the ruckus. Dayot Upamecano had the wherewithal to send the ball into no man’s land. In any other situation, the chance would have petered out, yet Lewandowski’s incisive focus on the play allowed him to find himself in the right instance for a spectacular finish. The art of a celestial striker.

Isaac Rivers – Robert Lewandowski against Hoffenheim

For both individual skill and team play, my goal of the season is Lewandowski’s rocket against Hoffenheim. It all started with Segre Gnabry playing a long ball from Bayern’s baseline to find the head of Lewandowski around midfield. Heading it forward to Thomas Muller, who wrestled his defender off for 15 yards and tapped it back to the feet of Lewandowski to fire his shot from yards beyond the penalty box. This goal was beautiful to watch.

Daniel Garza – Serge Gnabry against Borussia Dortmund

The volley from Gnabry was a top-class goal that helped Bayern achieve victory against Dortmund in the crucial Der Klassiker match on Matchday 31. Gnabry opened the scoring with this volley, and it helped pave the way to a massive three points for Bayern. It was Gnabry’s best season of his career in terms of scoring goals in the Bundesliga, and this goal was the highlight of his 14-goal campaign.

Rituraj Deka – Robert Lewandowski against Dynamo Kyiv

Bayern faced Dynamo Kyiv for a UEFA Champions League clash in which the Polish Striker scored a scintillating Bicycle Kick. A wayward shot into the box ricocheted off a defender, sending the ball high into the air. A split second later, Lewandowski pulled off a ridiculous bicycle kick to put the ball into the back of the net.

Kiran Thakare – Robert Lewandowski against Dynamo Kyiv

Robert Lewandowski scored many memorable goals last season, but the bicycle kick away at Dynamo Kyiv was the best of the lot. Considering the difficult conditions in the game, the Polish forward showed great awareness and skill to pull off a memorable goal.
