The pre-season is two weeks away for Bayern Munich, but squad planning for next season has been in the motion since the end of the season. The German champions have added three players to the squad, while Marc Roca has sealed a permanent move to Leeds United. Along with adding new faces to the squad, Bayern needs to sort contract extension of Serge Gnabry.
Serge Gnabry is set to make a decision regarding his future when he returns from vacation. The negotiations with the German winger have reached an impasse as he rejected an improved offer made by the club at the end of the season.
Gnabry is reportedly keen on staying at Bayern for next season, but things will not be entirely in his hands. Real Madrid and Arsenal have been linked with the German forward, but there have been no concrete talks between clubs regarding a transfer.
Bayern’s Sporting Director Hasan Salihamidzic remains optimistic about securing the future of Gnabry. While talking to Sky Sports Germany this week, Salihamidzic confirmed that talks would be reopened with Gnabry when he reports for pre-season at Sabner Strasse. He insisted that Die Roten had made the best possible offer to Gnabry.
"“I’m very clear about that, he’s a great guy. We really want to keep him. We would love to extend with him. I think we showed him the necessary appreciation. I hope that he chooses FC Bayern.”"
