The summer transfer window is going well for Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club has managed to strengthen the attack by signing Sadio Mane from Liverpool. The Senegalese winger was in Munich on Tuesday to complete the final formalities of the transfer. Courtesy of the arrival of Mane, Bayern has reportedly cooled interest in one of their other attacking targets.

According to Bild, Die Roten has put a move for Sasa Kalajdzic on the back burner. The Austrian striker from VfB Stuttgart was heavily linked with a move to Bavaria at the end of last season. Kalajdzic’s representatives were spotted at Allianz Arena to hold talks regarding a potential transfer.

Kalajdzic may run out of options for a big move in the Bundesliga this summer. Bild also confirms that Borussia Dortmund has decided to go ahead with Sebastian Haller instead of signing the Austrian striker. The 25-year-old striker currently has a strong proposal from Brighton, but it remains to be seen if he decides to join the Seagulls.

Bayern may revisit the potential deal for Kalajdzic if Robert Lewandowski ends up leaving this summer. The Polish striker is determined to seal a move to FC Barcelona. However, the Bavarian club continues to insist that he has a contract to reinforce.

Despite delivering promising performances with Stuttgart, Kalajdzic is unlikely to be a starting striker for Die Roten. He will have to be much more prolific to be the first-choice striker for the German Champions. The Austrian striker managed six goals in 15 appearances for Stuttgart last season.

Kalajdzic will serve as the perfect plan B for Nagelsmann. He is a tall striker that can hold up play and bring other forwards into play. However, it is not a pressing need until the future of Lewandowski is resolved in the coming weeks. The Bavarian club is likely to receive a second bid from Barcelona for the Polish striker worth €50 million.

Die Roten might have to dip into the transfer market for two forwards if Serge Gnabry decides against signing a new deal. The German winger will reportedly confirm his decision once he returns from holiday. The Bavarian club will be forced to sell him if he doesn’t sign a new deal. Gnabry has entered the final 12 months of the current deal.

Apart from the attack, Bayern may also look to add another midfielder to the squad. The German Champions are interested in RB Leipzig midfielder Konrad Laimer. RB Leipzig is reluctant to sell another player to Die Roten, so it will be interesting to see how this deal pans out in the coming weeks.
