It has been a significant week for Bayern Munich as they have completed a couple of transfer dealings. Sadio Mane is set to arrive in Bavaria from Liverpool next week, while Marc Roca has sealed a move to Leeds United. The German Champions are likely to be busy in the coming weeks as they continue to reshape the squad for next season.

Marcel Sabitzer is one of the players from the current squad that still faces an uncertain future. Earlier this summer, Sabitzer’s agent had confirmed that he would be staying in Bavaria next season, but he continues to be linked with a move away from Die Roten.

According to Sport1, Sabitzer’s departure from Bayern is possible if the club signs another midfielder after the arrival of Ryan Gravenberch. The Bavarian club will be looking for offers worth €15 million if they decide to part ways with the Austrian midfielder.

Die Roten has been heavily linked with a move for Sabitzer’s former teammate Konrad Laimer. The Bavarian club may turn their attention towards signing Laimer from RB Leipzig after concluding talks with Liverpool for Mane. Sabitzer’s chances of breaking into the starting XI at Bayern will be slim if they add another midfielder like Laimer.

It has been difficult for 12 months for Sabitzer. He completed a late move to Bavaria last summer. The Austrian midfielder was expected to make an instant impact since he was accustomed to the philosophy of Julian Nagelsmann. However, things have not gone as planned for Sabitzer at Bayern, even though he managed to lift his first Bundesliga title.

Marcel Sabitzer struggled to get adequate playing time throughout the season. On a few occasions, he was also an unused substitute for Die Roten. There is an incredible amount of competition at Die Roten in the midfield department, but Sabitzer’s versatility should have made sure that he played more than he did last season.

The Austrian midfielder’s agent told Sky Sports on Friday refused to rule out a move away from Die Roten. The coming weeks will give more clarity about Sabitzer’s future in Bavaria. He has already been linked with Arsenal and Atletico Madrid, while Roma is also reportedly interested in signing him.

If Bayern succeeds in signing Laimer, then Marcel Sabitzer may have to ask for a transfer. At this stage of his career, he needs more playing time, so there is no point in spending another 12 months on the bench. It is a shame that Sabitzer’s transfer to Bayern has not worked despite his impressive time in the Bundesliga until now.
