Leon Gortezka
Die Roten signed talented Leon Gortezka from Schalke in the winter transfer as they were looking for a strong attacking midfielder. The German international signed a pre-contract agreement with the Bavarian side in January 2018 before completing the free transfer in June 2018.
The German midfielder has already scored 28 goals and 29 assists with 138 appearances for the Bavarian side. He has managed to win five Bundesliga Titles, two DFB-Pokal, FIFA Club World Cup, and many other trophies for the club and played a major role in it.
The 26-year-old’s actions are sharp and precise, and he never intends to hold onto possession and commit opposition pressure, but instead, provides quick link play to help Bayern bridge the gap to their attacking players who are capable of dazzling in the final third. Goretzka performs well across a range of positions for the Bavarian side. He has featured as an attacking midfielder, a number 6, a number 10, and a makeshift full-back for the record Bundesliga champions, and also played on the wing for Germany.
He represented his hometown club at the age of six and made his professional debut at the age of 17. Leon Goretzka has asserted himself as one of the most talented midfielders of his generation and is considered one of the successful transfers for Die Roten. On a free transfer, Goretzka has turned out to be an incredible signing for the Bavarian club.
