The upcoming summer transfer window is set to see numerous top forwards switching clubs. Manchester City has already won the race for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland. The Norwegian striker was also linked with Bayern Munich. The Bavarian club may have to look at other options if they decide to bolster the attack in the summer.
Liverpool’s Sadio Mane is subject to interest from Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic. According to Sky Sports in Germany, Salihamidzic is eager to bring Mane to Bavaria in the summer transfer window. Salihamidzic wants Mane to make the statement signing in the summer as he held talks with the winger’s agent last week.
Sky Sports also report that the wage demands of Mane will be affordable for Die Roten. The talks with Serge Gnabry for a new deal have stalled, so a swap deal with Liverpool for Mane is a possibility. However, no talks have taken place between the two clubs regarding a deal involving both wingers.
Meanwhile, SportBild’s Christian Falk has completely denied Die Roten’s interest in Mane. Falk also insists that Hasan Salihamidzic didn’t discuss Mane with his agent Bjorn Bezemer when they met in Mallorca a few days ago.
Mane’s current deal at Liverpool is set to expire in 2023. He has been a fine player for Liverpool in the last five seasons, scoring more than 100 goals across all competitions. The former Southampton winger also played a key role in Senegal’s maiden AFCON win at the start of 2022.
Sadio Mane will add more quality to Die Roten’s attack. However, he will be turning 31 next season. The Bavarian club has focused on signing players that will be entering the peak years of their careers. Mane is not beyond his peak, but he will start to decline soon. A huge financial outlay for a player above 30 doesn’t make sense.
Rekordmeister will be still hoping to convince Gnabry to sign a new deal. The German forward is yet to accept the German club’s improved deal. They will be hoping to resolve his future one way or the other in the coming weeks to ensure that they have the right plans in place to sign his replacement.

Along with Gnabry, Die Roten will be looking to resolve Robert Lewandowski’s future in the coming days. Similar to Gnabry, Lewandowski also has only one year left on his contract. He reportedly wants to join Barcelona, but the Bavarian club is in no mood to sell him in the summer.
