Multiple changes at the back for Bayern Munich

Manuel Neuer had two nightmare games against Villarreal. He made uncharacteristic errors while playing passes from the back, and he could have done much better to avoid the equaliser from Villarreal. Neuer will be looking to make amends on Sunday and end the campaign by keeping clean sheets in all of the five remaining league games.

Lucas Hernandez was substituted against Villarreal due to a knock. The French international was doing well until suffering a knock against the Spanish side. He may get rested against Arminia Bielefeld as Nagelsmann has lately used all options in central defense.

Niklas Sule will most likely return to the starting lineup on Sunday. The German defender missed Tuesday’s game due to flu. He will be partnering Dayot Upamecano in the heart of the defense. Upamecano was solid defensively against Villarreal, but missed a crucial chance to double his team’s lead in the second half. He will be hoping to end his debut season strongly, starting with the game against Bielefeld.

Alphonso Davies was surprisingly not picked to start against Villarreal. In his cameo, he ended up playing Samuel Chukwueze onside for the Spanish side. Davies will be looking to bounce back from the torrid night on Tuesday with a good performance against Bielefeld. Meanwhile, Benjamin Pavard will slot in the right-back position.
