Bayern Munich interested in RB Salzburg’s young forward
Bayern Munich is likely to look for a young striker in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Bavarian club has been monitoring young strikers in the past few months. RB Salzburg’s Benjamin Sesko is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Bayern.
According to SportBild’s Christian Falk, the Rekordmeister is interested in the 18-year old Slovenian striker from the Austrian Club Salzburg FC. However, there has been no suggestion about talks being held for the young striker.
The tall Slovenian international striker has attracted immediate comparisons to young Haaland as he went on a scoring spree for Salzburg’s second team, FC Liefering, with 22 goals in 44 games in the Austrian second tier last season. Sesko may not straightaway play in the first team, but he could get a handful of appearances in the first team if he moves to Bavaria. Die Roten will face intense competition for his signature Premier League giants Liverpool FC and Manchester City have been linked with the Slovenian forward. The likes of Juventus and Borussia Dortmund are also credited with interest in the forward.
The teenager seems can act as a perfect target man. He is able to find his teammates well from knock-downs and flicks. Finishing is one of his strong traits, while the teenager also has great footwork. Sesko has the potential to become a top-class forward.
Sesko is able to drift infield to assume playmaking responsibilities and even test the goalkeeper with his long-range shots. The tactically astute teenager is also excellent without the ball and takes up clever positions to aid his teammates.
The Slovenian striker has already reached double figures for direct goal involvements in the debut season with the senior team at RB Salzburg. The teenage striker became the youngest player to play for the Slovenian national team. He has scored eight goals and seven assists in all competitions for RB Salzburg.

The Slovenian striker’s contract at Salzburg ends in 2026, so he will command a significant fee in the upcoming transfer window. From the player’s point of view, staying at RB Salzburg will be much more productive at least for the next couple of years. He will get exposure to the top-level consistently in Austria and also get a chance to play in the Champions League. A move to Bayern will make a lot of sense in 2024 or 2025.
