Bayern Munich set to lose young talent to Barcelona
In the past few seasons, Bayern Munich has been very clever in terms of signing young talents from top clubs. The Bavarian club managed to clinch a crucial deal to sign Jamal Musiala from Chelsea in 2018. It turned out to be a significant move as Musiala has now established himself as one of the key players in the first team.
Die Roten has managed to get some of the promising talents from across the globe. The Bavarian club is now set to be on receiving end as FC Barcelona is inching closer to sealing a move for a promising young talent at Bayern.
According to Sky Sports, Barcelona is holding negotiations to sign Kenan Yildiz from Bayern. The 16-year-old attacking midfielder is inching towards moving to Spain. Barcelona has the upper hand in negotiations as they maintain a good relationship with Yildiz’s agent. They worked with the same agent when they sealed deals for Ferran Torres and Pedri.
As per the report from Sky, Die Roten is eager to keep Yildiz at the club. Apart from Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund also has an interest in the young attacking midfielder. However, the Spanish club is currently leading the race to sign him.
Yildiz is on the cusp of playing for the reserves team in Bavaria. He may get a chance to play for the reserves team from next season after impressing across various age groups at the German club. As things stand, he might get a taste of reserves football in Catalonia instead of Bavaria.
Earlier in January, it was reported in Germany that Bayern had severed relationship with Barcelona. The Spanish club was frustrated with the Bavarian club’s attempts to sign their players, such as Sergino Dest and Pedri. In the same report, it was suggested that Barcelona is looking to poach talents from Bayern. Yildiz and Gabriel Vidovic are on the club’s radar. They are close to signing the former, while there is no update on the future of the latter.
Bayern is currently competing with Barcelona for the signing of Ajax full-back Noussair Mazraoui. The Moroccan full-back is set to become a free agent in the summer. Die Roten has made a much better financial offer than Barcelona. The German club will be hoping to beat Barcelona to this signing after losing Yildiz to them. Die Roten had lost to Barcelona for the signing of Sergino Dest in 2020.

Meanwhile, Die Roten is set to activate the one-year extension option for Christopher Scott. The German attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic, while talks have been held with Brentford. Bayern wants to keep him at the club, but he wants playing time at the senior level from next season.
