The last few years have seen Bayern Munich stepping up efforts in recruiting the best young talent from different parts of the globe. The Bavarian club had a barren spell in the last decade when young talent from the academy went on to become a key first-team players. However, things have changed for good in the last couple of years.
With efficient recruitment and a good pathway for young players in the first team, Bayern does have some impressive young talent. Die Roten has also lost a few promising young talents on free transfers as players decided to look for game time at the senior level.
Christopher Scott is another promising talent from the reserves team at Rekordmeister that could end up leaving Bavaria in the next transfer window. The German midfielder’s current deal is set to expire in June, but Rekordmeister does have an option to extend it by a year.
According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern is eager to extend Scott’s contract. The midfielder’s agent has already held talks with the Bavarian club. The 19-year-old midfielder wants to get regular playing time to continue his development. Along with Die Roten, Scott’s representatives have also held talks with Brentford and Celtic.
Scott made his Bundesliga debut last season, but he has found it difficult to get any sort of playing time with the senior team this year. At the start of the season, it was reported in Germany that Nagelsmann might consider using Scott as a right-back in the first team. However, things have not panned out in that manner for the young midfielder.
The teenager did train with the senior team during the pre-season. He has played regularly for the reserves team and often got opportunities with the first team. The next step for the midfielder will be to get playing time at the senior level to continue his development.
Scott primarily thrives in the attacking midfield position. Since there is a lot of competition in this role at the first-team level, Scott will find it difficult to get meaningful game time in Bavaria. A move away from Bayern in the summer could serve him well in terms of taking the next step in his career.

Die Roten may have to convince him to stay by giving assurances about a solid loan move in the upcoming transfer window. A shorter contract extension at Bayern with a loan move in the summer could benefit all parties. The Bavarian club has two months to find an agreement with the youngster.
