The international break has come at the right time for Bayern Munich. Ahead of the crucial two months of the season, head coach Julian Nagelsmann got some rest and a few first-team players got time to recover from their respective injuries. The latest update from Sabner Strasse is promising for the business end of the season.

According to Bild, Bayern will more than likely have the complete squad available for the game against Freiburg after the international break. There has been significant progress made by players that have been on the sidelines due to various reasons.

Leon Goretzka is in line to get a start against Freiburg since he has been training well this week. The German international was troubled by a knee injury since mid-December. After a frustratingly long recovery process, Goretzka is now completely fit to play for Die Roten.

The return of Alphonso Davies in first-team training is the biggest boost for Bayern during the international break. The Canadian left-back was back on the pitch at Sabner Strasse before the break after the medical team gave him the green light to train. Davies has been on the sidelines since January due to a diagnosis of myocarditis.

Davies has a decent chance of featuring against Freiburg. Die Roten will have to carefully get him into full match rhythm. Since he has not been playing for weeks, he will be vulnerable to muscle injuries. Davies is likely to get chances from the bench before starting a game by mid-April.

Benjamin Pavard has also recovered from a coronavirus infection. The French defender has been training with the first team during the international break. He was not selected for the French national team after testing positive for covid midway through last week.

Niklas Sule is also back training with the first team after missing the game against Union Berlin due to injury. The 26-year-old center-back was not selected by Germany for the current round of friendly games. Bild has suggested that Sule is not exactly ready to start next weekend, but he should be fit enough to be involved in the matchday squad.

Serge Gnabry recently withdrew from the German squad due to illness. The German winger is yet to start training at Sabner Strasse, but he should return in time to be available for the game against Freiburg. Nagelsmann will be hoping for an injury-free international break. The German coach will need all players available to win the Bundesliga and Champions League titles.
