Nagelsmann may stick with back three against Furth

Sven Ulreich will continue in the goal on Sunday as Manuel Neuer continues his recovery from a knee injury. Neuer is expected to return by the second week of March, so it is another opportunity for Ulreich to impress. He will be hoping to finally get a clean sheet after two poor results in the last seven days.

Dayot Upamecano was dropped for the game against RB Salzburg after his poor performance away at VfL Bochum. Nagelsmann has been very proactive about rotating center-backs this season, so Upamecano may get the nod on Sunday. The French center-back will get a chance to prove himself on Sunday as he will most likely return in the lineup for Lucas Hernandez.

Niklas Sule and Benjamin Pavard will form the back three against Furth on Sunday. Pavard will operate as the right center-back, while Sule will be operating on the left side of the back three. Upamecano will be playing between Sule and Pavard against Furth.

Alphonso Davies confirmed on Wednesday that his recovery is on track. However, there is still no clear idea about his return date. Until Davies gets back to complete fitness, Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry are likely to play as wing-backs in the current system. Coman will provide width on the left, while Gnabry will operate from the right side.
