The deadline day of the winter transfer window saw Bayern Munich completing deals for various young players in the youth team. Die Roten also managed to convince Paul Wanner to sign his first professional contract, which brought an end to the speculation surrounding his future.

There was one more interesting development that was reported in France during deadline day. According to Foot Mercato, Tanguy Nianzou has switched agents. The French defender will now be represented by former Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev.

The change of agent by a player often leads to speculation. Nianzou’s case is no different. It makes sense since he will have to look for a move away from Bavaria if he doesn’t get meaningful game time in the next four months.

Sport1 in Germany is reporting that Nianzou remains focussed on establishing himself at Bayern. The French defender could look for a loan move in the summer, but a permanent transfer is not on the player’s mind.

Tanguy Nianzou has endured difficult first 18 months in Bavaria since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer in 2020. The French defender struggled with different injuries during his debut season, while game time has been difficult to get in the second season due to intense competition for the center-back position in the squad. He has managed to get only 357 minutes of playing time across all competitions this season. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)

Hasan Salihamidzic has been a big admirer of Nianzou. The Bavarian club’s sporting director has tipped him to become a crucial player for Rekordmeister in the future. However, Nianzou needs to get consistent playing time to continue his development. In an ideal scenario, he should at least clock 1000 minutes on the pitch across all competitions this season.

Rekordmeister is likely to explore the center-back market once again in the summer since Niklas Sule is leaving. The defending Bundesliga champions should try to arrange a Bundesliga loan spell for Tanguy Nianzou to get his development on track. Nianzou can eventually come back and mount a much stronger competition to the senior central defenders.

Meanwhile, the departing Niklas Sule has been approached by Borussia Dortmund. However, Sky Sports in Germany has reported that Sule is likely to reject a move to Die Roten’s rivals. The German international has been heavily linked with top Premier League clubs and Barcelona. Sule had rejected a contract offer at Die Roten after the club refused to meet his wage demands.
