The winter transfer window has largely been quiet for Bayern Munich. After the departure of Mickael Cuisance at the start of the window, there has been very little movement on arrivals and departures. However, the winter transfer window provides transfer opportunities for players that have entered the final six months of their current deal.

Taylor Booth is one of such players in the reserves team at Die Roten that is set to become a free agent in the summer. According to Sport1, Taylor Booth has already held talks with FC Utrecht regarding a move in the summer.

Meanwhile, ESPN is reporting that Utrecht has already agreed to personal terms with Booth for a summer transfer. The Dutch club is also exploring the possibility of signing the young midfielder in the current window, but Rekordmeister will be looking for a transfer fee for that to happen.

Die Roten decided against offering him a new deal, so Booth was able to hold talks with interested clubs in the winter transfer window. It remains to be seen whether Die Roten allows him to leave now as the reserves team push for promotion to the second division.

Booth arrived in Bavaria from Real Salt Lake in January 2019. He has been playing with the reserves team but couldn’t break into the first team. Since there is significant competition in the senior team, Booth will be better served to move away from Bavaria to get playing time at the senior level.

Meanwhile, there could be a few more departures from the youth teams before the end of the current transfer window. According to Sport1’s Kerry Hau (via iMiaSanMia), Nemanja Motika and Jamie Lawrence will be going out on loan before the deadline on Monday.

Barcelona is also reportedly looking to poach a couple of top talents from Die Roten’s reserves team. The Catalan club is reportedly interested in signing Kenan Yildiz (16) and Gabriel Vidovic (18). It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will try to sign both teenagers in the current transfer window or wait until summer.

Rekordmeister did manage to bolster the youth teams during the winter transfer window. The Bavarian club signed highly-rated Swedish left-back Matteo Vinlof from Hammarby IF. Meanwhile, young goalkeeper Ziyang Liu-Shao also joined the U-19 team before the winter transfer window.

The Bavarian club is also looking to extend the contract of Paul Wanner. The young German attacking midfielder is rated highly by the club hierarchy. His contract renewal is a priority for Hasan Salihamidzic before the end of the season.
