On Matchday 19 of the Bundesliga season, FC Bayern Munich was hosted by  FC Koln in this four-goal thriller. Even though still having many starters out, Bayern was looking for their comeback performance after their staggering defeat last week against Borussia Monchengladbach, which they were very successful in doing so. Here are Bayern’s top player performances from their 4-0 win over Koln.

Corentin Tolisso

With his first Bundesliga start in quite some time, Corentin Tolisso proved his place. Not only did he have an immaculate finesse finish in the 14th minute, but Tolisso was a powerhouse in midfield. In Bayern’s first goal, Tolisso began the move through a clever interception.

The Frenchman’s goal was Bayern’s second of the game, in which he initiated the whole movement with another interception. The entirety of this game, from a holding midfield position, Tolisso found himself in great forward attacking play on many occasions. Overall, you can book this as Corentin Tolisso’s best performance of the season.

Thomas Muller

This performance solidified Thomas Muller with the title of the “Assist King”. In the first 16 minutes of the game, Muller got two assists to his name. The first of which may have been one of his cleanest slide-rule passes to find Lewandowski for the goal.

This game saw Muller play much higher up the pitch, allowing him to constantly feed the attackers, making him one of the biggest attacking threats on the field. It was not only his delivery that was on point, but Muller finished the game with nearly 90% pass completion- quite an impressive feat. A solid 10/10 performance from Thomas Muller.

Robert Lewandowski

In the game in which he scored his 300th Bundesliga goal, Robert Lewandowski had a remarkable performance bagging his second hattrick of the season. Opening the game’s scoring, Lewandowski finished a well-placed ball from Muller that slid right across the face of the goal in the ninth minute.

After the initial goal, Koln kept Lewandowski quiet for the next 50 minutes. However, late in the second half saw him break free. Within 12 minutes of each other, Lewandowski scores two near-identical goals to bring Bayern’s total to four. With a performance of this magnitude, it is a given that Robert Lewandowski is today’s Man of the Match

After an amazing overall performance, Lewandowski and Bayern will be looking to build a winning streak in their next game against Hertha BSC on Jan. 23.
