The transfer upheaval in the midfield department at Bayern Munich has already started. The defending Bundesliga champions are expecting changes during summer on both arrival and departures in the center of the park.

At the start of the winter transfer window, Die Roten sanctioned the departure of Mickael Cuisance. The French midfielder joined Venezia on a permanent deal after struggling to get consistent playing time under Julian Nagelsmann in Hinrunde. The departure of Cuisance and the possible exit of Corentin Tolisso in the summer have led to planning for at least one new midfield signing at the club.

According to Fussballtransfers, Nancy’s Warren Bondo is on the radar of Bayern Munich. The 18-year-old is considered as one of the promising midfield talents in France. This report also confirms that Die Roten will be facing competition from AS Monaco, Atletico Madrid, and AC Milan for the signature of the French midfielder.

Bondo will be soon available on a free transfer since his contract at Nancy comes to an end in the summer. The young midfielder is currently fallen out of favour at Nancy as he runs down his deal. The report from Fussballtransfers does suggest that Bondo will come in as a replacement for Cuisance and Tolisso.

Rekordmeister has not exactly enjoyed success with young midfield signings in the past few seasons. They struggled to see expected development from Cuisance and Renato Sanches. Both midfielders left the club after getting very less playing time in Bavaria. They need to avoid mistakes that happened previously, if they decide to bring in Bondo as part of first-team plans.

Bondo will be a very exciting midfield signing if it happens in the summer. However, Die Roten needs to integrate him into the team as they did with Alphonso Davies and Jamal Musiala. He can easily fill the void left by Cuisance and Tolisso and eventually become an important player in the future.

The arrival of Bondo could be the only arrival in the midfield during the summer transfer window. However, Die Roten will need other fringe midfielders to step up. If Marc Roca and Marcel Sabitzer become important players for Julian Nagelsmann during the second half of the current campaign, then one more addition should suffice for now.

Roca struggled for playing time in Hinrunde, but he ended strongly with good performances against Wolfsburg and Stuttgart. The Spaniard is set to stay in Bavaria until the end of the season. If he keeps playing well, then there is a possibility of staying beyond summer. Meanwhile, Sabitzer is also settling in at Bayern after arriving from RB Leipzig in August 2021. The Austrian will get more playing time as the season progresses. The next few months will be interesting in terms of how the situation evolves surrounding the midfield department of Bayern.
