Bayern Munich managed to get a top talent from MLS when they paid a hefty fee to sign Alphonso Davies from Vancouver Whitecaps. The defending Bundesliga champions continue to focus on getting more such talents from the American league.

In order to get young talents early at Sabner Strasse, Die Roten has signed a partnership with FC Dallas. The MLS club’s young talents have been training at Rekordmeister few months as part of their development. Justin Che has been one of such talents that made a very good impression on coaches at the Bavarian club.

After the end of his trial at Die Roten, Che returned to Dallas. However, Rekordmeister was keen to sign him permanently. The German club had held talks with Dallas for signing Che, but there has been no considerable breakthrough.

According to MLSsoccer.com, Bayern remains in contention to sign Che. However, the German club could face some serious competition for the young defender as there is interest from other Bundesliga and Premier League clubs. FC Dallas will be open to part ways with Che if a suitable offer arrives during the winter transfer window.

The 18-year-old defender has enjoyed a considerable amount of playing time with the senior team in Dallas. He has managed to get 15 appearances under his belt to continue his development. Die Roten will be getting a much better defender than what they would have got 12 months ago. (Stats courtesy: Transfermarkt)

However, Bayern cannot afford to drag talks with FC Dallas since there is interest from other clubs in Germany and England. The winter window could be crucial for Che as he will be looking to take the next step in his career. After enjoying a trial at Die Roten, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Che itching to get a move to Bavaria.

If Rekordmeister reaches an agreement with Che, then he will not go straight into the first team. The 18-year-old center-back will play in the reserves team and get regular opportunities to train with the first team. He may then go out on loan in the Bundesliga to get used to senior football in Germany.

Che may want to follow the path of Chris Richards at Die Roten. The young American defender arrived from Dallas and got few appearances in the first team. He eventually moved to Hoffenheim on loan to get more first-team action. As of now, Richards is developing well at Hoffenheim. Che could follow a similar trajectory if he gets a move to Bavaria. Things may heat up for the transfer of Che when the transfer market resumes this weekend.
