In the past couple of years, Bayern Munich has not enjoyed complete success from their loan system. Players have struggled for consistent playing time, while some of them have struggled to impress with opportunities at their loan clubs.

Despite the previous poor record with loans, Die Roten enjoyed one significant success this year. Joshua Zirkzee’s move to Anderlecht has been a massive success for all parties. The Dutch striker has regained his confidence after struggling to get playing time at Rekordmeister and Parma last season.

According to Spox, the Belgian club has no option to make this move permanent at the end of the season. This report also insists that Zirkzee is eager to stay in Bavaria on the back of a positive loan spell in Belgium. The Dutch forward currently has 18 months left on his deal at Die Roten.

At the halfway stage of the season, Joshua Zirkzee has managed to get nine goals and five assists to his name in 21 appearances across all competitions. The young forward should ideally look to at least double this tally by the end of the season.

Getting 20 goals under his belt at Anderlecht in one season can help Zirkzee to kickstart his career at Bayern. He did start brilliantly after making his debut in the treble-winning season two years ago. Zirkzee was the go-to man for Hansi Flick whenever he was looking for goals in tight games or managing the workload of Robert Lewandowski.

Rekordmeister may open contract talks with Joshua Zirkzee if he continues to impress at Anderlecht. The new contract will help the club to protect his value and get them a fee if he decides to leave in 2023. Meanwhile, Zirkzee would ideally like to run down a deal so that he is not stuck in a loan loop after signing a long-term contract.

Julian Nagelsmann has a good record of improving young attacking players. Zirkzee didn’t cover himself in glory during pre-season games under Nagelsmann at the start of the season. After getting back his confidence at Anderlecht, Zirkzee could become an even better player under Nagelsmann’s coaching.

Die Roten will soon need to find a good alternative number nine that can manage the workload of Lewandowski. Zirkzee managed to do this job in his debut season. After getting good first-team action in Belgium, the Dutch striker can do an even better job in this role when he returns to Bavaria next season.
